Dr. Allen graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1987, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology.  He attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, and obtained his M.D. degree in 1991. Upon graduation, Dr. Allen began a one year surgical internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver; and continued there for his Orthopaedic Surgery residency, finishing in 1996.  He then completed an accredited one year fellowship in Hand & Microvascular Surgery at the University of California Medical Center in San Diego.

Dr. Allen has been in clinical practice for nearly fourteen years focusing his career on hand and upper extremity problems.  He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, and has additional Board Certification in Hand & Microvascular Surgery.

Dr. Allen takes great pride in his work and treats each patient with the respect and personal attention they deserve.  He utilizes a mini-open carpal tunnel surgery technique, is adept at wrist and elbow arthroscopy, and stays current with all new advances in the field.  He enjoys people and will always talk to you in a language you can understand.
